Wharton Asian-American Association of MBAs (WAAAM)

About

Mission statement: Wharton Asian American Association of MBAs (WAAAM) provides a forum for celebrating all AAPI identities while supporting members professionally, academically, and socially at Wharton and beyond. You do not need to be Asian or American to join WAAAM – WAAAM is proud to welcome all allies and supporters of our mission!

Our Pillars:

  • Community: Events to foster intimate spaces of meaningful connection for members of the WAAAM community to share and learn. E.g., WAAAMilies, Small group dinners, Hobby squads, WAAAM Grams

  • Social: Plan and host large-scale, engaging events that create and strengthen bonds among WAAAM members and the broader Wharton community. E.g., WAAAM Vegas, WAAAM Escape, Banquets, Parties/Karaokes

  • Identity: Promote self-reflection and dialogue on topics related to AAPI identity and matters impacting the AAPI community. E.g., Identity dinners, Panel discussions, Identity workshops

  • Partnerships: Facilitate connections to the broader Wharton MBA community via event collaborations with other student organizations. Collab events with other affinity & recreational clubs (dinners with SEA Club, Poker 101 with Poker Club, etc.)

  • Empowerment: Support members in recruitment and empower them to lead AAPI advancement in the workforce. E.g., Career workshops, Alumni engagement, Mentor outreach, Wharton AAPI Conference
